I started this blog years ago, under the name The Asian Cafe, as I wanted to just write about the thing that I loved the most at that time-Asian dramas and Pop Culture.
Now, several years, blog posts and jobs later, as a full-fledged entertainment writer, I’m now coming back, full circle, as I’m reviving this blog yet again, in order to write about the things that I love most- Asian and Western Pop-Culture, Television and Film.
Over the years, this blog has had an identity crisis of sorts, as I honestly didn’t know whether or not it would be a good idea to continue writing just solely about those things. However, now that I’m writing entertainment news for a living, I realized that I didn’t really have an outlet to just talk about the things that I really love, and to share my own opinion about it.
However, it took quite some time for me to actually push myself to do exactly that again on this blog due to the fact that work was keeping me busy, and as I am not really an expert on these things, I’m just a big fan of pop-culture, with the tendency to get obsessed over cult favourites and the like, and who loves to learn more and more about the different ways that stories can be told and presented, and how one can relay information to others.
So, I’m finally coming back, and this time for good, under a new name:
Here, you’ll see me talk about my thoughts and opinions regarding the things that I love, from films old and new, to television shows old and new, to books, to musicals, all the way to comics and manga. Everything and anything that I love and whose fandom I am part of in one way or another will be celebrated here.
However, I must warn you once again, dear reader, that most of what I’ll be putting here is largely my own opinion, and that I am not claiming to be an expert in everything- at least, not yet.
I am open to suggestions as to what to write about, as long as it is a television show, movie, book, or comics, as I’m always eager to discover new things to sink my teeth into.
(Also, I’m a sucker for innovative forms of storytelling such as web shows and their accompanying transmedia.)
These suggestions can be put in as comments, as I’ll be reading them constantly. However, please note that comments should not be that disrespectful or inflammatory.
That said, dear readers, whoever you are, I am looking forward to spending time with you as we go through a whole journey of entertainment, media and pop-culture in 2016.
P.S. Please note that the site will also be undergoing some minor updates along the way, as I continue to finalize things for this blog.
